Terms of Service

This page is an English translation of the Korean original. If they differ, the Korean version prevails.

These terms set out the conditions and procedures for using the services, including font license sales, offered on the It’s My Type website (itsmytype.kr, the “Site”) run by It’s My Type (잇츠마이타입) (“we”), and the rights and duties of us and our users.

“User” means anyone, member or not, who uses the Site under these terms.
“Member” means a user who has signed up by logging in with a social account (Google or NAVER) or with an email address and password.
“Font” means a typeface design we sell and its files (OTF, WOFF, WOFF2, etc.).
“License” means the right to use a purchased font within a defined scope.

We post these terms and our business information (name, representative, address, business registration number, etc.) at the bottom of the Site.
We may change these terms within the law. We announce the effective date and reasons at least 7 days in advance, or 30 days for changes unfavorable to users.
Changes apply only to contracts made on or after the effective date; earlier contracts remain under the previous terms.

You become a member by logging in with a social account (Google or NAVER), or by entering an email address and password and confirming the code sent to that email. These terms and our Privacy Policy apply from that moment.
Members must keep their password safe. If you forget it, you can reset it with a code sent to your registered email.
Children under 14 may not become members.
We may refuse or cancel a membership that uses someone else’s account or information.

You can ask to close your account at any time by emailing info@itsmytype.kr; we will do so without delay.
Licenses you have bought stay valid after closing your account. However, you can no longer download fonts from the Site; during the legal retention period we can look up your order and reissue the license certificate.
We may restrict or end a membership that uses someone else’s information, pays fraudulently, distributes fonts in breach of a license, or disrupts the Site.

Members choose a font, license type and weights, check the amount, agree to the refund policy and then pay.
At checkout, members enter a licensee name (a person or a company). The license is granted in that name, which is recorded on the license certificate and in the font files. If you buy in the name of a company or another person, you must be authorized to act for them. We do not verify licensee names.
Before payment we show the product details, license scope, file formats, price and refund restrictions.
Before buying, you can try each font free of charge with the type tester on its page.

The contract is formed when the payment is approved, and we confirm it on the completion screen and by email.
We may decline an order that contains false information or that we cannot technically fulfil; if already paid, we refund it without delay.
If a minor contracts without a legal guardian’s consent, the minor or the guardian may cancel the contract.

Prices shown in Korean won include value-added tax.
Payment is made through our payment provider (Toss Payments) using the methods shown in the payment window, such as credit or debit cards and simple payment services.

Once payment completes, you can download the font files right away from “My fonts” in your account. The Basic license includes OTF files; the Web & app embedding license includes OTF, WOFF and WOFF2 files.
Delivered font files contain the buyer’s name and order number so the license can be verified.
We email a license certificate when payment completes; you can also download it again from “Orders” in your account.
If you cannot download because of a Site problem, we will deliver the files another way.

Fonts are digital content, so once a download has started, orders cannot be withdrawn for a change of mind (Korean E-Commerce Act, Art. 17(2)(5)). We state this on the purchase screen and offer a free trial before purchase.
Refunds before download, defective files, license changes and the procedure are covered by our Refund Policy (itsmytype.kr/refund).

All rights in the fonts and font files, including copyright, belong to us. You receive a non-exclusive, non-transferable right to use them, not ownership of the fonts or files.
Basic license: install the fonts on the computers you use to create designs such as print, video and images.
Web & app embedding license: everything in the Basic license, plus embedding the fonts in websites and apps you operate (web fonts, app bundles, etc.).
The Web & app embedding license comes in 4 tiers by monthly users (up to 10,000, up to 100,000, up to 1,000,000, and over 1,000,000). Monthly users means the monthly unique visitors to all websites plus the monthly active users of all apps that use the fonts. If you go over your tier, pay the difference and upgrade to a higher tier.
You may not: give or share the font files with others (including shared drives and public repositories); resell or rent the fonts; modify or convert the fonts and distribute them; use the fonts to make and sell other fonts or lettering products; remove or alter the buyer details in the files; or leave the font files publicly downloadable from a website or app.
To use the fonts beyond your license, pay the difference and upgrade to a higher license.
If you breach the license, we may terminate it and claim damages.

We comply with the law and these terms and strive to provide the service continuously and reliably.
We protect your personal information under our Privacy Policy.

Members must manage their own account and must not let others use it.
Members must not use others’ information, alter Site information without permission, or infringe our or third parties’ rights such as copyright.

Copyright in the text, images and design on the Site belongs to us; they may not be copied or distributed without our permission.

We are not liable when we cannot provide the service due to force majeure, such as natural disasters.
We are not liable for damage caused by a user’s own fault, except where we acted intentionally or with gross negligence.

You can send complaints or feedback to info@itsmytype.kr; we reply within 3 business days.
Disputes between us and users may be referred to mediation bodies such as the Korea Consumer Agency or the Content Dispute Resolution Committee.

These terms and transactions are governed by the laws of the Republic of Korea.
Lawsuits are filed with the district court for the user’s address at the time of filing, or residence if there is no address. If neither is clear, or the user lives abroad, the competent court under the Korean Civil Procedure Act applies.
